The Alliance for Educational Justice is a national, youth-led movement building youth power to end state violence in schools and transform education into a space of safety, dignity, and liberation. We organize young people to build collective power to change the conditions that shape their lives. That means fighting for what our communities need now, defending against state violence and repression, and building alternatives that allow us to practice the future we are fighting for.

We envision a world where young people are accepted as their full selves, free to express who they are, pursue their dreams, and shape the future of their communities.
We believe education is a human right. Every young person deserves learning—in schools and beyond—that nurtures their curiosity, honors their knowledge, and supports their freedom.
We believe in abolition and young people’s right to self-determination and self-governance. We fight for schools and communities free from policing, punishment, and criminalization, where care and dignity guide how we treat each other.
We organize to build collective power and create spaces where youth can practice that freedom now— making decisions together, building what they need, and caring for each other, the land, and the water.

Organize
We build power to change institutions.
We organize young people and communities to move decision-makers, win material changes, and shape the policies, budgets, and institutions that affect their lives.
Defend
We confront state violence to protect our people.
We organize collective defense when youth and communities face criminalization, repression, surveillance, displacement, or attacks on their right to organize.
Transform
We build what we need beyond the state.
We create and practice alternatives rooted in collective care, self-determination, liberatory learning, community safety, and the knowledge that our communities hold.
